October 2020

The map above will show you the route we will be taking to get home.  We might be home around October 12th or 13th.  I never know with these people!  They may take a detour!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct 1st, 2020  We took off again.  This time dad is driving 140 miles to a small town titled Ely, Nevada (it is pronounced EE-lee).  They stopped at Valley View RV & Mobile Home Park.

We found a very nice place nestled in among the trees.

It even has a very nice green grass center court yard.

Oct 2nd, 2020  Today mom and dad took the Jeep and spent the whole day out "off-roading".  First they went to Cave Lake State Park.

The above picture is the boat dock and ramp.  They were amazed at how low the water level is.

Then they drove around for awhile inside the state park.

They drove 10 miles on desert gravel roads and ended up at Charcoal Oven State Park.

It has a pretty interesting history.  How it started out for the mines and ended up being a hiding spot for bandits.

After walking around these ovens for awhile, they drove North of McGill, NV to a Bassett Lake.  This turned out to be a bust.  It was on 5 miles of gravel road, the bridge was out at the lake and the lake was pretty dry!!.  But they found a spot under a tree to have lunch in the shade.

After lunch they drove several miles on a gravel road to 5 acres of land for sale.  It had a metal building and a well.  But the building was to low for Lily to drive into.  For now they'll keep looking at land to buy.  Maybe someday they'll settle down again, someplace.  But for now, they are home in time to feed me!!!  And that's all that matters!

Oct 3rd, 2020  I have a new friend.  He is in the tree above us.  A Great Horned Owl.  Daddy couldn't get a picture of him but I can hear him calling me.  Telling me to come outside.   Maybe it's a good thing I'm inside!

Oct 4th, 2020  They went to the Great Basin National Park today without me.

The Lehman caves are closed, for some reason.  But they did get to stand in the door way.

They then decided to drive up the 12 miles of the Wheeler Peak Scenic Road.  They started at the visitors center at 6800 feet and drove up above 10,000 feet.  They saw some very beautiful fall colors.

They took a video on their dash cam of the 12 miles down the mountain.  Click here to view the You Tube

Oct 5th, 2020  Today we moved 150 miles South to Pickett's RV Park in Alamo Nevada.

This gravel parking lot turned RV park has some great owners/managers.  The WiFi is great but the 30 plus cable channels are snowy.  Oh well!  Not much to do here but we'll find something to do.

Oct 6th, 2020  After lunch I took a nap while they went to the Alien Research Center in Hiko, Nevada.  Daddy posed with Warf and mom found a new boyfriend.  I think she traded up!  They were only 36 miles from Area 51 (as the crow flies).

After they escaped from there, they went down to Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge.  The lake water was really low. They even saw several heron's.

Oct 7th, 2020  Today was a long day.  Dad bounced us well over 200 miles to a huge gravel parking lot West of Kingman, AZ.  This RV park is called Settlin Inn RV Park.  There are over 200 spots here and the WiFi is bad.  Really bad.  It's a gravel parking lot with RV Pedestals and a lot of full-timer residents.

It's been hot.  Arizona hot!!

Oct 10th, 2020

Congratulations to mommy and daddy on 26 years of being together and 19 years of marriage.

Oct 12th, 2020  YEAH!!! We are home!!!  We parked Lily2 in the back driveway with electricity, water and sewer.

So the plan right now is to talk to our real estate broker and find out what or how the current market is for selling the house.  We think it will sell fast.  So we'll then have an estate sale and sell all our junk for pennies on the dollar!  :(  After the sale and the holiday with the family we are heading off on the next adventure.
