Here are all the pictures taken in August 2019

Aug 1st, 2019
This morning I was left to fend for myself.  There was a yellow cat running around my house trying to get the attention of my servants!!  I cannot allow that to happen.  I must protect my domain.

Anyway, they left to go to the John Martin Reservoir State Park
and just drove around looking at things.  There is a campground there by the name of Hasty Campground.  Here are a few pictures of the state park.  They should leave this dump and go there!!  They have fish, birds, rabbits, squirrels and maybe deer.  You know, those funny looking big dogs with white butts!!

Aug 2nd, 2019
Today, we left this dump!  We left all the dogs who start to bark at 6:30 in the morning.  Today, we left that yellow cat behind.  But we took the worst road in Colorado.  My kneck hurts from bouncing up and down like a bobble head.  We finally stopped at Alamosa Economy Campground in Alamosa Colorado.  It is a old grassy field with RV pedestals.  But at least the power is 115 volts with AC on.  We are also at 7600 feet high.  So it is no longer hot.  So that's cool!!

Aug 3rd, 2019
Today is sabbath.  We (mom and dad) went to church.  They said they had a great time.  Then we all took a nap together.  It was another good day.

Aug 4th, 2019
We finally left this over priced dust bowl of a campground!  We only drove a little while, but we went from 7500 feet to 7900 feet in altitude.  We finally stopped at Woods & River RV Campground in Del Norte.  The weather here is just great.  Nice and cool with a slight threat of PM thunderstorms.  I also have a great view of the Rio Grande river out the front window.

I've already seen lots of birds including woodpeckers and humming birds, but also my little furry friends the chipmunks and squirrels.  This place is going to be great!!

Aug 5th, 2019
This morning, after my egg yoke breakfast, I took a nap on the veranda.  When I woke up mom and dad had gone out "jeep-in".  They found the Rio Grande Spillway and Canal just up the road.  Even though it is private, the workers let them on the property to take some pictures.  It was pretty cool to see up close.  This spillway/canal is much like the Salt River canal system in Phoenix.  Supplying water to all the local farmers for miles around!!!  Here is some information about the Rio Grande River itself.

Aug 6th, 2019
At 8:20 this morning I saw one of those large dogs with a white butt (deer) come prancing through our campsite.  Man, those things are fast.  His name must be "speedy".
About 10 am, mom and dad drove to the dump station and then on down the road.  Well I should say UP the road.  As soon as we got going we went pretty slow up the Wolf Creek Pass.  The summit is 10, 856 feet in altitude.  But, Lily and dad did good.  Then without warning, they stopped at Treasure Falls.  Mom and dad looked tired when they returned.  Here are a few pictures they took.

Around 1 pm we finally stopped at Happy Campers RV Park on the west side of Pagosa Springs.
As you can see, it is not as nice as the last place.  I don't like it here.  The traffic noise is to much for me.  I'm going to hide under mommies seat!

Aug 7th, 2019
Late morning after breakfast we left this "one-night-stand" campground and drove to Durango, Colorado.  We stopped at United Campground, site #82.  This is a wonderful RV park with lots of views in every direction.  We have great internet speeds.  We will be here 1 full week.  YIPPEE, no moving for a week!!!

This is us, squeezed into a campsite.  Check out the view to the rear.

While we are directly in front of the bathrooms/shower/laundry building, we do have fantastic views out of the front windshield.  Also, the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad goes right through this campground.  We can see the train pass by from our site, 6 times a day.  3 times in the morning and 3 times in the afternoon.  That should be fun!  NOT!!!!

After each train goes by a little yellow chaser car follows it.  Not sure why!  Maybe picking up the hats and sunglasses that fall off.

Dad put out the hummingbird feeder.  YEAH, I've got friends to play with!!!

Aug 8th, 2019
Today mom and dad went south of town and looked at an old railroad trestle tracks that used to go to  Farmington NM.
They also stopped at a couple of different stores.  But bought nothing for me, again!

Aug 9, 2019
Today was a great day!  Mom and dad left me alone all day while they took a train ride from Durango to Silverton and back.  They didn't get home till after 7 pm.  But they were all smiles.  They must have had fun!!    Here are the multitude of pictures they took.

Aug 10th, 2019
Happy Sabbath everyone!!

Aug 11th, 2019
Today it rained most of the day.  So we all stayed home while mom did the laundry and baked bread.  That made the house nice and warm, and it made it smell good too!!

Aug 12th, 2019
After my breakfast, I was left alone so I could get some needed sleep.  Mom and dad however, they took the Jeep and drove up the Million Dollar Highway.  All the way from Durango to Ouray and then back down to Durango.  67 miles one way.  They went up and down and around, but they stayed on the highway.  They went over 3 different mountain passes, each 10 thousand feet or higher.  Here are many pictures taken.
Then, on the way home, they stopped at Handlebar J's Restaurant in Silverton, Colorado.  This place has a very quirky style, but really good food.  Some strange items adorn their walls.  Here are a few pictures.
After they filled their stomachs they went to the Old Hundred Gold Mine Tour.  They even panned for gold, silver and copper.  If they found any, they didn't share it with me.  But they did share the pictures.

After they left the mine they stopped at a Beaver dam and Beaver lodge which had been built in the Cunningham Creek just outside the mine.  They had never seen a real beaver dam and lodge up close.  But they did not see any beavers.  That would have been way cool!!  Here's a couple of pictures.

Aug 13th, 2019
After lunch, while I was napping, they left.  They went to Shalona lake, which is about 16 miles north of us at 37.483047, -107.805808 (on Google maps).
This is a multi acre lake with an island they saw from the train.  So today they took the Jeep to "check it out".  But it was on private property.  They gate was locked also.  So, they could only admire from a distance.  But since they were out, they took a short Jeep ride in the San Juan National Forest.  They found a small but gorgeous pond off County Road 250.  No bears and no deer.

On the way home they saw and stopped at the Pinkerton Hot Springs.
They also stopped off at the Honeyville Store.  This is everything you ever wanted to know about honey, but was afraid to ask.  They had honey, honey jams, honey liquors and a lot more too.  They even had a glass bee hive.  Yikes, thousands of bees buzzing around.  No thank you!
Check out the rest of the pictures inside the August folder.

Lucky for them, they got home in-time to feed me!!

Aug 14th, 2019
Late morning, after breakfast, mom and dad packed up Lily and moved.  We moved from Durango to Cortez (about and hour or so).  We stopped at the Sleeping Ute RV Park.  A very nice place behind the Ute Casino just South of Cortez.

This is a very nice park at a good price too.  A little hot outside right now, or at least 93 degrees is a little hot to me!!

Aug 15th, 2019
Mom and dad went shopping this morning.  When they came back at lunch time they had nothing for me.  They never think of me!! Oh well, I'm going back to bed.  It's hot outside.

Aug 16th, 2019
Mom and dad left and I was in charge.  It was my job to protect Lily while they are gone.

They decided to spend the day at Mesa Verde National Park.
Here are a few pictures.

I was exhausted when they finally got home at 5 pm, well after my feeding time!  They have no idea what I go through when they are gone.     I'm hungry, I need to eat!!

Aug 17th, 2019
Today is Sabbath.  After church we all took a nap and stayed home together.  It was a good day.

Aug 18th, 2019
After my morning breakfast, I had the whole house to myself.  Yippee!!
Mom and dad drove down to the Four Corners Monument.

It cost $5 per person to get in (which is expensive for what we got) but it's done and over with.  Another item on the bucket list, scratched off.  There was a lot of Indians selling their wares.  It was kinda cool!!  They were all very nice.

It was hot today.  Up around 93 degrees.  I got hot on the veranda and went to sleep under mommy's chair.  I'm so done with this heat!! 😢
Mommy did make bread.  That always makes the house smell good.

Aug 19th, 2019
I didn't get my egg breakfast this morning.  Dad had cereal and mom was fasting.  I didn't even get to lick the bowl of milk.  I'm not happy with him!
They left me hungry to go to Canyon of the Ancients National Monument and Museum.
When they got back I was just hanging out waiting on them to return.
As you can see, I'm suffering from malnutrition.  My ribs are practically sticking out.  OK, maybe not that bad, but still.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, some say.  I agree!!!

Aug 20th, 2019
I'm so disappointed in my parents.  They stayed home with me all day.   They played with me, loved on me and then left me.  Well, they did feed me first, but then they left.  They went out to dinner with some friends they met at church.  They must have gone over to their house after dinner.  Because they didn't come home until bed time.  I was here all alone after dark.  Now, that's OK.  I mean, I'm a cat!!

Aug 21, 2019
Well, after breakfast I could tell something was up!!  Yep, just like I suspected.  We moved again.  😟  Dad drove us over the worst roads he could find!!  I looked like a bobble head!  How degrading!!

We finally stopped at Cadillac Ranch RV Park in Bluff Utah just north of the 4 corners area.  It's a small park but looks nice.  Only 14 sites and a few tent sites.

Aug 22nd, 2019
This morning I enjoyed licking a bowl of milk daddy gave me.  Then he left!!
They drove down the road to the Gooseneck State Park.  It only cost $5 per vehicle to walk around and look at this unique view of the San Juan River.
After they left, they "Jeeped" down a gravel road, in an area called the "Valley of the Gods".  Not to be confused with the area in Colorado Springs with the same name.  This place was much more rugged.  They found many places we could DRY CAMP when we come back to this area.  If the weather is not so hot.  Here are some pictures of Gooseneck State Park and Valley of the Gods.

After lunch (where nobody shared their tuna fish with me) they left me again.  This time they went across the street and visited a reconstructed 1879 Mormon settlement called Bluff Fort.  Here are a few pictures.

Aug 23rd, 2019
We left this place a lot earlier than I wanted to.  1 1/2 hours of riding on the waviest and/bumpiest road around we finally stopped.  We stopped at Canyon de Chelly.

Finally after 3 months of traveling I get to visit a national monument.  After visiting the first look out, I went back to bed.  This place is too big for me.  Somebody could get hurt if they should fall down into that canyon.  Here's some pictures.  I'm outta here.

Just when I thought the bumpy road was over, we took off again.  2 hours later we stopped at USA RV Park in Gallup, New Mexico.

Today, we have been in 3 different states and 2 different time zones.  No wonder my peeps can't find me!!  USA RV Park is a large gravel parking lot with RV pedestals.  Over 100 sites, plus a pool.  So far the WiFi is down more than it's up.  😠

Aug 24th, 2019
Today is the sabbath.  We NEVER travel on the sabbath.  Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aug 25th, 2019
Today, mom and dad helped an elderly couple, from Sweden, who were parked next door.  Their 2007 MH jacks were refusing to retract.  (Can't drive down the road with a jack or two partially down)  Dad walked to the office and found a local mobile RV repair guy.  When the repair guy came out, all it took was resetting the control board and everything was good again.  They left shortly after lunch, saying thanks.
Mom took my Betsy Ross flag off the veranda to wash it.  But a couple of hours later she put it back.  It's really clean now!!

It's too hot to sleep on the veranda.  I'm going back to my bed.

Aug 26th, 2019
Late in the morning, I was rudely made aware, we are leaving.  It took them forever, or maybe they just took there time, but at any rate, we moved.  2 hours or less, we arrived in Saint Johns Arizona.  At first we stopped at the St Johns Apache County Fairgrounds.  They have a RV park there that is completely in the sun, no WiFi and no OTA TV.
After about 15 minutes, dad decided to move.  Dad moved us across town (about 1 mile) to the St Johns RV Resort.

The WiFi is very poor (using hot spot instead) and still no OVA TV.  But at least there are trees.  Trees mean birds and squirrels.  Maybe rabbits too.

Mom and dad went out to dinner.  On the way back they stopped at a Ace Hardware and Market.
Mom gets such a kick out of some of these signs.  I don't see what is so funny about a hardware store and grocery store all in one.

Aug 27th, 2019
We left St Johns RV Resort about 10 am.  I went to bed because I know how dad drives.  We stopped at Walmart in Showlow Arizona.   Then they stopped at Home Depot and Lowe's.  We had lunch in the parking lot.  They gave me pieces of Turkey.  It was good.  We finally stopped for good at a friend of moms in PineTop Country Club.  We parked in her front yard.
She's a really nice lady and smells good to.  Mommy has known her since 1977.  That's over 42 years!!!  They left me alone while they went out to dinner.  I get to stay here and protect the motor home.

Aug 28th, 2019
Today, after my morning eggs, mom & dad sat outside talking with their friend.  She is super nice and is a great friend and host.
They sat on the back yard patio which faces a fairway of the PineTop Country Club Golf Course.  As we talked we watched the golfers.  Some were better than others.  It was fun to watch.
After dinner we played cards and just talked and talked and talked.  I'm done!  I'm going to bed!!!

Aug 29th, 2019
We left the tall pines and cool air to drive down the mountain.  We stopped at Payson Arizona for a "work day" at a client.  The client allowed us to park in their parking lot and gave us electric and water.  They are really nice people.

Aug 30th, 2019
Most of today was a work day.  Both mom and dad helped them with different computer things.  They would come and then go.  But it is OK.  I wanted to sleep and I'll have the whole bed to myself!

Aug 31st, 2019
Today is sabbath.  None of the workers are around, so this place is really quiet.  It's nice!!  Mom and dad went visiting their friends after church and let me sleep.

Sep 1st, 2019
I was not served my egg yoke breakfast this morning.  I was waiting for it!  But instead we moved.  Dad drove us from Payson to home.  The traffic was good.  Here is a video of me, on the bed as we travel.  I always hide behind a pillow because I don't want to watch dad drive.  He hits every bump!!  But when we got home I was happy.  (Click here for the short video)
Mom and dad locked me up while they unloaded the motor home.  So I went to sleep in my favorite condo!!  It's good to be home!
