We plan to stay in Winnemucca, Nevada for a whole month. But that could change.

June 2nd, 2020:  They went shopping today in Carson City, NV.  Lowe's, Walmart, Smith's and some place called Kings Canyon Waterfall.

June 3rd, 2020  Today I was put into bed, told to stay while they packed the house to move.  Which is OK with me.  I don't like dads driving, so I normally hide when we move.  What seemed like all day (really 220 miles and about 5 hours including lunch) we arrived in Winnemucca, Nevada.

What is a Winnemucca?

June 8th, 2020  Today, I thought mom and dad were going to jail!  I started to worry so much about where I’d end up, I couldn’t sleep! 

Let me explain.  Their house sitter mailed them a package of mail, a vitamin K bottle and some new ear muffs for dad’s headphones several days ago.  The house sitter gave mom the tracking number and mom has been watching for it.  Today, the tracking site for the Post Office showed a warning the package has been intercepted by Law Enforcement.  It said nothing else!!

So, mom found an 800 number for the Postal Police and called them.  She gave the first person all the information mom had.  This person said a cop would be calling her back.  About an hour later a cop, calling himself Warren, called mom and said the package has been seized because a police dog smelled drugs.  Mom explained to the postal cop “No Way!!”  She then told him everything that was in the package and gave him permission to open the package.  Warren explained he is in Reno but the package is in Winnemucca.  About 1 mile away from us.  He said he would call his “partner” in Winnemucca and give him the OK to open it.  Warren called mom back and explained that a drug dog had alerted on the package.  But, after opening the package the police realized the dog had made a mistake and there are no drugs.  Therefore, they will deliver the package tomorrow.  Dumb dog!!  Can’t even smell right!  This is another reason why cats are better than dogs.  Cats won’t snitch on you!!!

June 9th, 2020  After I got up from my nap I learned mom and dad went to Water Canyon Recreation Area in Southern Winnemucca.

It Rises almost 2,000 feet above the town of Winnemucca, the secluded Water Canyon is one of the premier recreation areas in Northern Nevada and offers a rugged, picturesque setting along the canyon's upper reaches and a lush riparian area of cottonwood and aspen trees along the stream at the canyon bottom.  It is controlled and managed by Bureau Land Management.  (A federal agency)  Because of Covid-19 it was closed.  But they did do some "Jeep-ing".  Dad said he almost got the Jeep stuck in a creek, but I think he's pulling my leg.

 They also saw a Nevada Pronghorn.  

Personally, I think these and those other things called deer are nothing but ugly dogs with white butts.

Today, around 4:40 pm mom called Officer Warren and left a message stating our package did not arrive today as promised.  At 5:15pm the RV Park office called and said a package arrived for us. We guess Officer Warren called the local post office and said something to someone, because it got delivered pretty quick after she called.  Oh, I checked.  It does not smell like marijuana.  Dumb dog!!!

June 10th, 2020  This afternoon I was allowed to sleep uninterrupted while they went to the top of Winnemucca Mountain.  It's about 23 north of town and 2300 feet higher than the town.  The road to the top is a one lane very winding road.  There are a bunch of radio towers at the top.  They could see the whole town from up here.  It would be a great place to look at the stars, some night.  To bad the kids graffitied all the buildings.

 

June 14th, 2020 Today is Flag Day in America. I hope you are flying your flag.

Today to honor the Veteran's who supported the flag of America with their time, commitment and their lives, mom and dad visited the Winnemucca Veterans Memorial Park.  It's a small park with just  a few military vehicles on display.

June 16th, 2020 Today daddy did some maintenance.  He replaced the kitchen faucet with a brand new faucet.  It's a lot taller and doesn't have the "pull-out" sprayer mom hates so much.  Mom really likes it.

He also resolved slow drainage in the toilet.  Apparently, there was a blockage in the pipe from the toilet to the holding tank.  This is why I use a magic box.  I go poop in the box and in the morning it magically disappears.  No muss no fuss!  So I told them to get a magic box.  Or see a doctor!!

June 22nd, 2020  It's gonna get hot here!  And me with a fur coat!  Man oh man, I hope the A/C keeps working!!

June 23rd, 2020    After watching mommy finish washing the motor home today, (it took her four days) daddy and I took a nap.

June 28th, 2020  After my egg breakfast I went back to sleep.  I woke up when they returned from "Jeeping" to the big W painted on the Winnemucca mountain.

As you can see from the trail, it was pretty rough going.  So they stopped and washed the Jeep off from all the mud they acquired!
